It becomes a 2008 Quebec election issue whether the Liberals overreacted?

There were a series of scandalous contaminations of meat, then some cheese.

The Quebec government overreacted by confiscating & DESTROYING some cheese.

The government should have impounded the cheese, & had it tested, however,
the government had not previously shown interest in preparing to test cheese.

This issue of the summary destruction of cheese raises larger issues of power.

It threatens abuses of power to allow government to summarily seize & destroy.

In general, Quebec is a component of a global capitalistic plutocracy.

The laws favour corporations, against individual citizens.

There is an overall pattern to these social facts
which have an expression in summary seizure
and destruction of cheese, without testing.
